Earlier this week I was fortunate enough to be a part of an amazing collaborative effort and bridal style session at the brand new Windy Hill Barn wedding venue in Brant, ON. It's important to first mention all of the enthusiastic and incredibly talented vendors involved which included: Brandy from La Petite Fleur in St. George, Jasmine from Green Apparel Clothing Company in Brantford, Suzanne and Guy from La Cantinella Ristorante Italiano in St. George, the team at The Bruce Caboose, Keira Gilbert of FAD Hair Studio, Laura Perilli who was our model for the day, Daniel Hodgson who assisted with literally everything, D&D custom drops for providing a beautiful canvas backdrop, and of course Leslee from A Perfect Day who gave us full run of the property at Windy Hill Barn! If I've missed anyone please let me know and I do apologize.. ( now take a moment to inhale)
The day started off with a thick fog and heavy cloud coverage which is a photographers dream. The difference in greenery from April to May at Windy Hill was incredible, it's another example of when nature decides its time for something to happen you better believe it's gonna happen! We were greeted with a new baby calf, full blossoms in the apple orchard, tall grass in the fields, and flowers blooming everywhere.. A little spoiled to be honest.
We began the session using a small hill nearby which was covered in dandelions and featured beautiful grey silos as a backdrop, our model wearing the first dress of the day which was apparently worn by Rachel McAdams in "The Vow" (which I haven't seen but assume features a really haggard looking cast that doesn't end up together in the end ). From there we headed to the apple orchard with an old vintage couch, because who doesn't want to sit on a couch in the middle of an orchard? Needless to say this area resulted in some of my favorite work to date!
We were treated shortly after to some delicious (and much appreciated) gourmet food prepared by Chef Guy and Suzanne w/La Cantinella & the Bruce Caboose. Then we moved Laura and her second dress into the hayloft where Daniel set up our Custom D&D backdrop to create a high end/rustic feel. I should mention Brandy filled in for one of our sick models and did an amazing job as a bridesmaid, at one point bravely fending off an attack from a "spider-bee".. scary stuff!
I couldn't be happier with results from the day, and am very excited to showcase the photos below. Thank you again to everyone who helped make this happen and I hope to work with you all again in the future!
